Turn off automatic security updates

If you would like to always manually download and install security updates, you can set System Preferences to do so.

In System Preferences, click the App Store icon, and deselect these options:

• Automatically check for updates
• Download newly available updates in the background
• Install system data files and security updates

If you deselect these options, you also turn off automatic checks for all software updates. To check for software updates, open App Store on your Mac, then click Updates in the App Store toolbar.

Troubleshooting your Apple USB Keyboard Step-by-Step

If your keyboard keys still aren't working after trying the steps in USB Basic Troubleshooting, try these steps, in order, until you've come to a resolution.

1. Unplug all devices from your computer, including your mouse and keyboard, as well as your printer, scanner, cameras, iPod, external hard drives, and hubs. (Warning: Some devices, like iPods, may require you to perform steps before it is safe to unplug them.) If you have a hub, don't forget to unplug it as well.
2. Plug your keyboard and mouse back into your computer firmly and securely. Take special care to make sure that the connector is completely in the port. (USB plugs fit into ports one way only, and won't plug in if you try to plug them in upside-down.)
3. If that still doesn't work, try plugging your keyboard in to the other USB ports. Be sure to try them all. Check to see if the keyboard's Caps Lock light turns on when you press it, and try typing in one of your applications, such as TextEdit.
   
4. If your keyboard works in one of your USB ports but not all, your computer may need service to resolve an issue with its USB port or ports.
5. If your keyboard doesn't work in any of your computer's USB ports, it appears that your keyboard isn't functioning properly and needs to be replaced. You can order this part online. Order a replacement keyboard.

You need to have OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 before you can buy iMovie 10.0.7 from the Mac App Store. If you're using an earlier version of OS X Yosemite (10.10.0–10.10.1), the Mac App Store stops responding when you try to install the latest version of iMovie.

To resolve the issue, update to OS X 10.10.2 or later before you buy iMovie.

You'll need to use two adapters to connect your MacBook (Retina, 12-inch, Early 2015) to Ethernet.

Connect your Ethernet cable to an Apple USB Ethernet Adapter or a third-party adapter. Then, connect the adapter to the USB port on any of the following USB-C adapters.

• USB-C to USB Adapter
• USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter*
• USB-C to VGA Multiport Adapter*

Connect this assembly to your MacBook in order to access Ethernet.

*The USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter and USB-C VGA Multiport Adapter are powered. These are recommended so that you can charge your computer while also connecting to Ethernet or other devices.

Photos and iMovie don't support direct drag and drop between the apps, but there are two ways to bring images from Photos into iMovie projects.

Use Handoff with Apple apps such as Mail, Safari, Maps, Messages, Reminders, Calendar, Contacts, Pages, Numbers, and Keynote. Start a document, email, or message on one device and pick up where you left off on another device. You can also use Handoff with some third-party apps.
